Sapphire Gravel:

Our Sapphire Gravel is from the El Dorado Bar formation on the Missouri River in E. Helena, Montana.

 

SAPPHIRE WASHING INSTRUCTIONS

 

1. Place several cups of gravel in a frame with fine mesh screen or a strainer with small holes.

 

2. Rinse the gravel over a bucket or swish in a bucket of water to clean off dirt.  Drain outdoors. 

 

3. Flip contents of frame or strainer onto a flat surface.  (A light table is helpful.)

 

4. Under bright light (preferably sunlight), pick through the gravel very carefully looking for clear or colored objects that resemble clear glass.

Garnet Gravel:

Our Garnet Gravel comes from the gold mine tailings (residue) at Alder Gulch, Montana

 

GARNET WASHING INSTRUCTIONS

2. Rinse the gravel over a bucket or swish in a bucket of water to clean off dirt.  Drain outdoors. 

 

3. Flip contents of frame or strainer onto a flat surface.  (A light table is helpful.)
